KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 14): Pharmaniaga Bhd said today it is in the midst of negotiation with the Ministry of Health (MoH) for the purchase of the Covid-19 vaccine from China’s Sinovac Life Sciences Co Ltd (Sinovac LS) for distribution in Malaysia.
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 13): Malaysia, which is negotiating supplies of a Covid-19 vaccine with China's Sinovac Biotech, will only go ahead with procurement if it satisfies the safety and efficacy standards of local regulators, a Minister said on Wednesday.
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 12): Malaysia reported today its highest daily number of newly confirmed Covid-19 infected individuals at 3,309, which brought the nation's total number of Covid-19 cases to 141,533 so far while the cumulative figure of active cases stood at 30,390.
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 10): Indulging in activities at entertainment outlets formed the highest number of violations of the Movement Control Order (MCO) recorded yesterday, with 203 people arrested, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. He said in total, 528 individuals were arrested yesterday, while three were remanded, with the other offences including not wearing a face mask (149), failing to provide devices for recording of customers’ details (101), failing to comply with physical distancing (73) and others (2).
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 6): The building management of Maju Tower/Maju Junction Mall here is said to have informed tenants of Maju Tower about the presence of a Covid-19-positive individual at the building maintenance unit. Maju Tower tenant Ipmuda Bhd said in a Bursa Malaysia filing today the diversified company's premises at the ninth floor of Maju Tower in Jalan Sultan Ismail here will be closed for three days from today (Jan 6) to Friday (Jan 8).
BANGKOK (Dec 30): Thailand confirmed 250 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, the majority of which were locally transmitted, the public health ministry said. The new cases include nine imported from abroad, the ministry said. The 250 infections are among the largest number of confirmed daily cases since a big outbreak found nearly two weeks ago that was the country's largest yet.
BENGALURU (Dec 29): India has found six people who returned from Britain in recent weeks infected with a more infectious strain of the coronavirus that has prompted a wave of panic and border closures around the world. All six patients have been kept in isolation, the health ministry said in a statement on Tuesday, adding that their fellow travellers were being tracked down.
